Peikko delivered and installed the steel frame of the expansion of Terminal 2 in Helsinki Airport. The project received two awards at the end of 2021: The Steel Structure of the Year and The Site of the Year.

The expansion of Terminal 2 is the biggest investment project of the airport company Finavia. The expansion area of the terminal is 42,000 m2 and it has been planned based on adaptability. With DELTABEAM®, the terminal and its features can be easily modified in the future, if needed.

DELTABEAM® also allows freedom of design. At the airport, there is a diamond shaped structure on the frame, which is made possible with DELTABEAM®.

Peikko delivered and installed:

* 3,9 km DELTABEAM® composite beams
* 2,400 tons of other steel structures
* a lot of different connections items

In addition to the steel structures, Peikko also installed 4,500 concrete elements on site. The installation was made by Peikko Finland's subsidiary, Peikko On-Site Services.
